It is estimated that by 2030 there will be 70 million Americans over the age of 65, and as these Baby Boomers reach retirement age and beyond the demand for hearing health care professionals will increase proportionately. This growth will continue to create opportunities for you in the area of audiology.

This profession is specifically for people who like working with and caring for other people. It’s a career filled with hope and challenges. After receiving your undergraduate degree, our doctorate program at ETSU will prepare you for a future in private practice, speech and hearing clinics, schools for the deaf, hospitals or long-term care facilities. Career opportunities are numerous and diverse including activities related to hearing aid dispensing, pediatric audiology, vestibular rehabilitation, cochlear implant mapping, tinnitus management, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of auditory disorders and the education of the deaf and hard of hearing. Finally, graduates can also pursue research and teaching in a university environment.
