It takes a special person to become a dental hygienist. Our students enjoy working with people and are caring individuals who recognize the needs of their patients. Today, many of our graduates work in private practice. However, there are some opportunities in public health, education, and government. A new trend in some states is to work in nursing homes. A career in dental hygiene offers you flexible hours along with good starting salaries. Many graduates can choose to work 1,2,3,4, or 5 days a week. You don’t have to choose just one office in which to work. You can work in multiple offices giving yourself a variety of different patients and environments.
