Admissions (AS)

In addition to meeting all the requirements for admission to the School of Graduate Studies, applicants applying for advanced standing in the DPT program must meet the following Physical Therapy department admission requirements:

1. Graduation from a CAPTE accredited physical therapy program (or equivalent);

2. Active state physical therapist license with no current sanctions;

3. Completion of the ETSU Physical Therapy Department Application Form for Advanced Standing (click here to request the application form);

4. Three letters of recommendation (1 from current or most recent supervisor, 2 from licensed physical therapists, submitted on the forms provided in the ETSU Graduate Application Bulletin);

5. Submission of GRE scores if the overall GPA in previous coursework for the physical therapy degree is less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Only complete applications will be reviewed.

Applications for advanced standing will be reviewed on a continuous basis, however, due to the time intensive nature of the individualized review of applications for advanced standing, we strongly encourage submission of application materials well in advance of the semester for which you are applying. Applicants for advanced standing may not be admitted for the semester for which they applied if completed applications are not received in time for review.
