The ETSU Physical Therapy students have done and are doing some interesting research:

bulletAnn Lowdermilk's ('97) resulted in the publication of a journal article: Lowdermilk A, PC Panus, JH Kalbfleisch. Correlates of low back pain outcomes in a community clinic. JTenn Med Assoc. 92 (8): 302-305, 199. Ann has also served as president of the Northeast District section of the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association and as an adjunct instructor for the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation course.
bulletScott Gilbert ('98), Adam Kerley ('98), and Ann Lowdermilk ('97) had their research, "Nontreatment variables affecting return-to-work in Tennessee based employees with complaints of low back pain", published in J Tenn Med Assoc. 93(5): 167-171, 2000. 
bulletAmy Wilkinson ('02) and Stacy Caruthers ('02), in a collaborative effort with the Mountain Home Veterans Affairs Communicative Disorders department's Dr. Faith Akin and Dr. Owen Murnan, and ETSU Physical Therapy department's Mr. Duane Williams and Dr. Peter Panus, examined the relationship between tonic sternocleidomastoid muscle contraction and vestibular evoked potentials utilizing two different auditory stimuli. Their research is being prepared for publication.
