A graduate certificate is 5 to 6 courses selected to provide career competency in that field of study. The Health Care Management Certificate and the Epidemiology Certificate are available fully on-line. Courses in the Graduate Certificates can be applied towards their respective MPH degree, should the student choose to continue his/her education.
Biostatistics is a quantitative field with a focus on collection, management, and analysis of public health data. Students in this field will learn the theoretical and practical aspects of designing and analyzing public health data.
Epidemiology is a field that examines and determines the reasons and causes of diseases and health-related outcomes in population groups. Students in this field will learn how to use public health data to evaluate and identify the causes and public health impact of different diseases.
Gerontology is the study of the social, psychological and biological aspects of aging. It is distinguished from geriatrics, which is the branch of medicine that studies the diseases of older adults.
Health care management is multidisciplinary field of inquiry and practice concerned with the organization, financing, delivery and quality of health services for individuals and populations.
Rural Health studies individuals and rural communities through teaching, research, and service centering around social and behavioral factors associated with health status and behavior.
