MPH Epidemiology

MPH Epidemiology Program Information
Epidemiology is the "basic science of public health," and as such epidemiologists are health professionals who study disease, illness, and injuries and attempt to determine: who becomes ill; why certain people are more likely to become ill: and how to prevent the spread of illness.

Epidemiologists are public health professionals who investigate patterns and causes of disease and injury in humans. They seek to reduce the risk and occurrence of negative health outcomes through research, community education, and health policy.

I am particularly grateful that the ETSU College of Public Health provided me with the critical reasoning, exposure and research skills needed to sail through my career.
