The purpose of the graduate Public Health Field Experience [ PUBH 5850] is to provide an opportunity for you to “road test”, in a practice setting, the competencies, knowledge and skills you have acquired through your public health courses. For this reason, the field experience serves as the culmination of your studies and occurs after all course requirements are complete. The field experience serves as the culmination of your studies; therefore, ALL COURSE WORK MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE BEGINNING YOUR FIELD EXPERIENCE. Additional courses are not to be taken during the field experience semester.

“This field experience has been my favorite part of attending college and I am very privileged to have attended a university that makes field experience a mandatory course to be taken by students in order to graduate. I do wish that I could have participated in two or three field experiences prior to graduating. I have learned so much and gained so much knowledge and matured professionally from this experience and I am glad for that”.
