John Dreyzhener, MD, MPH, District Director of the Cumberland
Plateau Health District in Virginia has been
named as the new Commissioner of Health for
Tennessee.
Dr. Dreyzehner holds an adjunct appointment at the ETSU College of
Public Health and has co-authored
a paper on undergraduate public health
education with several members of the faculty. He has served on
several regional boards and commissions, including HEAL Appalachia,
the Southwest Virginia Health Authority, CARESPARK and a College of
Public Health Advisory Committee. Please see the Governor's press
