International Health Education Opportunity for Dr. Jodi Southerland

Dr. Jodi Southerland, Clinical Instructor in the Department of Community and Behavioral Health traveled with HealthCare Ministries to Odessa, Ukraine to serve with a team of healthcare professionals on a 10 day medical and health teaching outreach in October. Dr. Southerland conducted several health education seminars focused on chronic diseases and women's health and emotional needs. While in Odessa, the team provided medical care to approximately 600 individuals.

HealthCare Ministries (HCM) was founded in 1984 by Dr. Paul Williams and is the international medical outreach of Assemblies of God World Missions. HCM composes teams of a variety of volunteer healthcare professionals to serve on short-term medical, dental, optical, and health teaching outreaches all over the world while connecting people to a community of faith. HCM team members have been to 89 different countries and treated approximately 450,000 people.
