Allan Forsman Passes 2 Million Downloads
Allan Forsman, professor in the Department of Health Sciences, in the ETSU College of Public Health is one of the most down-loaded anatomy and physiology professors in the world. According data generated in iTunes reports, as of April 6th, over 2 million people have downloaded or streamed one or more of Dr. Forsman's on-line lessons. In the last two years, alone, there have been over 800,000 downloads and over 150,000 streams of his material.

Dr. Forsman was a pioneer in loading his short and simple instructional videos on-line. What started as an effort to provide his on-ground students with additional material to support his class-room lectures, has grown to have an international impact. Over the years, students have contacted Dr. Forsman from around the country and around the world, thanking him for making his simple, focused lessons available for free download. Dr. Forsman has received the Foundation Teaching Award for the College of Public Health and the 2012 Distinguished Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching for the entire University—the highest award for teaching at ETSU.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Forsman conducts research and has published peer-reviewed articles on the effects of weightlessness on various endocrine systems, notably the reproductive system in mice, and students working with Dr. Forsman regularly participate in the Appalachian Student Research Forum and other venues.

Dr. Forsman received his PhD in Anatomy and Cell Biology from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine.
