Dr. Ying Li Joins Environmental Health Sciences

Dr. Ying Li joined the College of Public Health on August 1st, 2014 as Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Sciences. Dr. Li came to ETSU after being an Earth Institute Postdoctoral Fellow at Columbia University. In addition she was a Postdoctoral Research associate in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Li earned her PhD in Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her dissertation won the Best Dissertation in Public Policy and Management in Asia from the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management. She also earned both an MS and a BS degree in Environmental Science from Peking University.

Dr. Li is the recipient of many academic awards including Earth Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship, Columbia University, Graduate Education Advancement Board North Carolina Impact Award, and The Society for Risk Analysis Student Merit Award in Dose Response Assessment,

Dr. Lis research interests include environmental risk assessment, health benefits analysis, Environmental and energy policy, and air pollution, climate change and health. She has recently published on those areas in Air Quality, Atmosphere and Health, Risk Analysis, and Science of the Total Environment. In addition she has presented her research findings at meetings of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology, Society for Risk Analysis, and Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management.

Dr. Li is active in several professional societies including the Society for Risk Analysis, the Air and Waste Management Association, and the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management.
