Matthew Johnson, academic advisor
for the College of Public and Allied Health, has
been appointed ETSU Campus Coordinator for the
Tennessee Public Health Workforce Development
Consortium. Workforce development is a major
leadership goal for ETSU and the College of Public
and Allied Health has taken the lead in developing
graduate level programs to meet the needs of
Tennessee’s public health workforce. The
college participates in a consortium with the
University of Tennessee at Knoxville and the
University of Tennessee Health Science Center at
Memphis to provide graduate level education and
training to Tennessee Department of Health (TDH)
employees from across the state. As ETSU
coordinator, Mr. Johnson acts as liaison with
participating campuses and the Tennessee Department
of Health to coordinate the admission,
registration, and progression of students through
the online program. Additionally, he serves as
ombudsman for all participants registered in ETSU
courses to ensure access to ETSU faculty and course
information.
Mr. Johnson has been an ETSU employee for six
years. Most recent to joining CPAH he served as
academic advisor in ETSU’s Division of
Cross-Disciplinary Studies. Additionally, he has
served as adjunct instructor with ETSU’s
department of English and as Teaching Fellow with
the Rozsa Ferenc Gimnazium in Bekescsaba,
Hungary.
