Silver appointment to CBeIRB…

Dr. Ken Silver, assistant professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Sciences, has been appointed to serve as a member of the DOE-wide Central Beryllium Institutional Review Board (CBeIRB) for three years. The initial appointment was made in August 2005.

The CBeIRB, under the management of Oak Ridge Associated Universities, is charged under the Common Rule and the Department of Health and Human Services (45 CFR 46) and the Department of Energy (DOE) (10 CFR 745) with the protection of human subjects included in research on beryllium exposure, testing or disease funded by DOE, or involving the DOE workforce conducted at all sites within the DOE.
