Welcome to The Department of Public Health Website.
Our mission is to prepare health professionals who are qualified to work in a variety of settings, including community agencies and organizations, schools, clinical settings, and worksites. Health educators and administrators plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities, services and programs which enable individuals, families, organizations, and communities to make positive changes for improved health.
Skills in communication, behavior change strategies, community assessment and development, training techniques, administration, and organizational development are emphasized. Students completing the program may sit for the national credentialing exam for the Certified Health Education Specialist (C.H.E.S.).
