Scholarships:
The Department awards the following scholarships to undergraduate students on a competitive basis:

John R. Cunningham Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to individuals who reside in Johnson County, TN, and who are interested in a career in policing. Incoming first year students must have a minimum 2.5 high school GPA; currently enrolled students must have a 3.0 GPA.

Christopher T. Mahan Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to incoming first-year college students with a proven financial need and a satisfactory grade point average. Preference will be given to students who graduated from Sullivan Central High School in Blountville, Tennessee.

David Scruggs Memorial Fund
This scholarship is awarded to a rising senior on the basis of academic performance.

Graduate Assistantships
Each year the Department provides financial support to a limited number of qualified graduate students. Eight students are presently receiving $5000 and a tuition waiver, while ten students are receiving a tuition waiver. Each graduate assistant works with a faculty mentor and collaborates on research and assists with classroom assignments.
