NADE Math SPIN Newsletters

Note:  Unless otherwise noted, the newsletters are PDF files. You need to have downloaded the free Adobe Acrobat Reader (about 5-6 megabytes).  Most new computers will have this installed when you receive them. If you don't have it already, though,  click here.   Your browser will open in a new window directing you to Adobe's web site for the download. Newsletters marked (HTML) are regular web pages.

Warning about the older newsletters: the links have not been updated. Locations for the MathSPIN web page have changed from time to time. So when you view any newsletter prior to the current one, use your browser's Back button to come back to this page. Otherwise you're likely to get one of those lovely " 404 File Not Found " messages.

Possible workaround for links that no longer work: If you encounter a broken link, click your right mouse key on it and choose the selection that allows you to copy the URL.  (In Netscape, that's "Copy Link Location." In Internet Explorer, that's "Copy Shortcut." In Opera, that's "Copy Link Address" or keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+C.) Then go to the web site http://www.archive.org/ and find the box marked with "The Wayback Machine." Click inside the box and press Ctrl+V (or choose edit > paste from your drop down menu.) Click on the button marked "Take Me Back" and you might be able to find an old copy that the Internet Archive cached before the page was taken down from the original server.

Math SPIN members receive an e-mail letting them know when the latest newsletter is posted. Make sure that you keep your e-mail address and other contact information up to date with the NADE office so you will get a timely notification.

Electronic Newsletters 1997-present

Older Newsletters Scanned from Printed Versions

These newsletters were orginally distributed as printed newsletters. They were converted into PDF files using a scanner and OmniPage 14 optical character recognition to make the text searchable. Every effort was made to make the electronic versions look like the original, but some formatting and font changes occurred, and the conversion process made some files a bit large.

* Something has gone wrong with these two newsletters. They will be fixed ASAP.

There may be other newsletters that someone has that are not represented above. If you happen to stumble across one, please consider making a copy and mailing it to Daryl Stephens (Box 70663, Johnson City, TN 37614) for future posting to the web. If you are a former newsletter editor and have electronic originals of other newsletters in Word, Word Perfect, text, HTML, RTF, or MS Publisher, please e-mail a copy to Daryl also. The archives have no newsletters from 1995 or 1996 at all.
