Goals for this year:
- Publish three newsletters.
- Sponsor two sessions at NADE 2004 in St. Louis.
- Solicit manuscripts and funding for Best
Practices in Developmental Mathematics, 2nd edition. Publish it,
time permitting.
- Continue to add to the SPIN web site.
- Encourage use of SPIN e-mail discussion group.
Accomplishments to date:
- The April newsletter should be e-mailed to
members by the end of the month.
- Volunteers are working on proposals for sessions
identified at the SPIN meeting in Austin.
- Tom Armington has begun collecting manuscripts
submitted by SPIN members for Best Practices 2. He, with help from
some other SPIN members, is negotiating with a publisher for possible funding
for printing the booklet.
- Several manuscripts and presentations have
been added to the "Publications" page.
- Several topics have been discussed recently
in the e-mail group.
Recommendations for future action:
We request that the SPIN meetings at next year’s
conference not be held during breakfast inside the exhibition area, where
it is extremely difficult for a large group like ours to communicate with
each other.
