Do not talk about salary or benefits, unless
they start.
Always display a positive attitude when the offer is made. Never accept the offer on the spot.
You can open the negotiation phase by
asking, "What kind of negotiating room do you have?" The employer will
typically ask, "What did you have in mind?" It is fairly easy to get 8
to 10% more than initially offered. Knowing that, suggest a number about 12 to
15% higher than the offer as a salary figure you had in mind.
