Pete was a sailor. He decided when he was younger to go on a journey, an adventure, so to speak. He never would have guessed it would have ended up as catastrophic as this. Pete and his crew were in a terrible storm where the ship was destroyed and all the possessions onboard. The crew was minimal, however Pete does not know the outcome of their fate, since as soon as the storm had settled all he could see was the ocean on every side. So, he did what he could, drift. He drifted for days and then drifted some more, constantly, praying, hoping for someone to catch sight of him and perhaps his life. However, this is what he decided to do with his life and as much of a tragedy as it was, he somehow managed to be complacent with the idea of dying out there in the sea. See, he, Pete, that is, believed in destiny and fate and all that other stars and astronomy crap most people like to do with out. This voyage on the open sea is a learning experience for him, if not anything else.

Pete Arrives in Key West via
a Ship Wreck
|
As Pete viewed the land he would eventually find to be Key West, he thought of it as another adventure in his life and was determined to make the most of what this land had to offer. Little did he know, as he was floating on a piece of driftwood, there was a huge wave looming in the background. Pete was totally unaware of its existence and eventually it was upon him with no warning. The wave was so huge it went over his head and kept circulating him around reusing to spit him out for air. If Pete was not dead yet, you could count on it now, but somehow it just was not his time. As far as the crowd of onlookers gathered on the side, they all believed not much was left of Pete, however, he was already unconscious and his body gave out as it was thrown on land by the ferocious waves. Luckily, there was a couple standing there who saw everything as they were playing with their children, making sand castles and the like. As Pete rolled onto shore, Adam and Eve ran to get help. Pete was awoken and taken to the hospital where they fixed him up with oxygen and rest. But, Pete being known for his manliness did not want to be pampered in a hospital. So, he set off in hopes of a drink. He passed Margaritaville, but that looked too cheesy. He saw a little pub named Mac's and decided it was the best option. He went in and was greeted by the bartender, an interesting character by the name Jean Luc "Mahi Mahi" Croissant.
