Since I NEEDED a drink I decided to help Mahi with the 30 year old bottle of Seagram's VO and of course with his work at shutting Mac's down. I basically talked about what I love most, sailing and the adventures I have had so far, sailing to the East Indies, Greece, Japan, island of Circe, or maybe I just dreamt about that one. I also talked of how I had not seen my home in almost three decades although I would never say incredibly homesick. However, I loved my adventures and knew if I went back home it would be for good this time. Hoping for a different life than I have had so far, I would want to settle down and find a wife and all that other normal stuff people do as they get older. My life would completely change and I am not quite ready for that yet even at my old age.

Mahi persuaded me to come to his house and inform me more about his latest adaptations found in some remote video archive of classic foreign films and to continue drinking a bottle of wine which according to him was one of the best (in his price range). We have to remember he is just a bartender in a little pub in Key West. Mahi said he did not like the look of me and wanted me to meet his friend Lolita, and she would fix me up. This Mahi character was very understanding and compromising seeing as how I only met him that day. However, I think he was as much intrigued by me as I was him. He also enjoyed our time together and the way I drone on and on about life's little incidences. I knew nothing about this place of Key West and guessed Mahi could show me more of what there was to see.

 

The meeting of Lolita was precursored by a near fatal incident with someone Mahi recognized as Dr. Van Helsing. He scared me at first with his attire so strange from what I am used to seeing especially when he turned around and he had an eye like mine (not working particularly well). Of course, I feel I need a patch, he chose to wear nothing to cover it just to let it roll around. We passed him and all I could hear was the words evil, darkness, and something about the minions of Satan, which I have no idea about any of these things and wanted Mahi to drive faster. He asked if I wanted to stay with him for a few days and I graciously welcomed this invitation.
