Judaculla--A Work in Progress

If you are looking for the Appalachian Writers Association . . .

For a number of years in the late nineties, it was my privilege to serve various officer positions for the Appalachian Writers Association. In recent years, the association has had some difficult times. Some of us are working towards reviving the association.

The Appalachian Writers Association has meant a great deal to many of us. I recall with a great deal of affection the friendships I have made through this group. It has worked to foster creativity, it has offered invaluable support and advice to new writers, and it has praised new work while honoring lifelong achievement. Its strength has always been in its recognizing Appalachian literature as a vital, always developing body of work. Now, it is time for the Appalachian Writers Association to reestablish itself as a vital, always developing body. One hopes to realize that goal in the coming months.

In addition, I am now in the process of developing a new project that I hope to announce here in the coming months.

Thank you.
