The text "To a Mouse" is a poem written by Robert Burns, November 1785. The text source is
from page 125,6 of The Harvard Classics edited by Charles Eliot (vol. 6) and published
by Collier in New York (1909).

The text is not presented as a centered format in the Harvard Classics edition, however, in
order to make the web page work better, I have taken the liberty to center the text while
maintaining all the essential line spacing intact. I do not feel this change in centering
detracts in any manner from the reading of the text. I have scoured each line for spelling and
punctuation errors.

Due to Burns's peculiar diction, the spelling may seem to be 'a wee bit offen' but those
familiar with the Scottish brogue should instantly recognize the strange verbage as a usual
production of Burns.
