PROJECT 3

"When Art Happens: A Collaborative Hyperfiction"

The project includes the following parts:

A. Six html files (scenes) that describe your character, recount the inspiration experience, and explain how the inspiration changes his or her life and the lives of other characters. Each should have 200-400 words of text. Remember that NOT all life changes (or any, for that matter) are for the good. Muses can mess up lives as well as enrich them.

B.. Use [BGColor="blue" and TEXT="red"] for your colors on each page, and use [img src= "http://www.etsu.edu/english/muse/museban.gif"] for a banner at the top of each page.

C. Order and entitle your html files sequentially after your character's name (e.g., john1.htm, john2.htm, etc.).

D. Your project should include at least five graphics (jpeg or gif).

E. Each HTML file should feature the creative use of html tables. You may use FrontPage to write the tables, if you wish.

F. Each of your HTML files should include at least three rollover buttons (linking to the muse home page, the muse's introduction page, and your first character file).

G. Each of your html files should have at least five links: one link to your paired character, two links to other characters, one link to your next file, and one link to the muse's introduction. In the course of the six files, you will have linked to your paired character six times, and to twelve other characters one time for each.

H. The links to your paired character should be progressive (advancing from file to file), while the links to the other characters should be to their first file (john1. htm, etc.).

I. We will share character profile forms this Friday, Nov. 13. Bring 17 copies of your form for your classmates.

J. Communicate with your character partner during class and via e-mail. Exchange e-mail addresses and sit next to each another during class work sessions.

K. The characters partners are: Lara M. and Marlan B.; James O. and Nikisha A.; Cara P. and Nicole T.; Jeanie S. and Karen S.; Keisha B. and Charles H.; David M. and Ed B.; Tina C. and Lynette M.; Anna H. and Cynthia M.; and Crystal E. (For Crystal Only--No character partner links, but 18 character links).

L. The setting of the story is the following place and time: .

M. Be sure to understand what the Muse means by "When Art Happens."
