![]() | His shoulders relaxed as they went into the cafe. They were seated in a booth next to the window overlooking the street. She commented on how stressed he seemed. He avoided the question, Raine assumed that it was because the young girls were lovers, and that upset him. A server walked over and introduced herself as Genev and set down waters and took their orders for coffee and hot tea for Raine.
While waiting for their drinks Raine excused herself to go to the rest room. On her way she accidentally ran into another server named True who she thought had waited on her before and had asked a question about her publishing house. Raine hurried back to Rick and talked about his plant. Then Raine being as straight forward as she normally was gave Rick her observations, politely of course. She thought that maybe it would make him think a little and loosen up, not that she minded how he was. When she told him that he was insecure and unwilling to let anyone care about him really ruffled him up. She wanted to chuckle at him, obviously someone had told him this before.

He filled her in on the conversation he overheard between the two servers True and Geneve and the girl, Cat they had met the night before and some man making a nuisance of himself. He told her about the accident with his old friend Nappy and his minidog and the Himalayan Butterfly. She told him that things do happen for reasons unknown. Raine gave the example of the flower, that if it hadn't been damaged that he would not have gone to the bookstore and she wouldn't be sitting here with him enjoying the emotions so visible in his eyes. Rick blurted suddenly.' You haven't met Nappy.'

Raine slyly smiled and says. ' Just wait he will save the day; something to do with life and death.' With that reminder of her dream vision she warned him of the accident on the freeway. She defiantly wierded him out with that one, because he finished his coffee and asked Geneve for the check. Rick did get Raine's address and directions to see her garden and thanked her for her time. As they were walking out the door Raine looked at him and said, 'By the way, when you run across that mysterious stranger, don't pass him by, he needs something that you have.'
