The Quest

After departing from Rick, Raine went back into the bookstore to help clean-up while she was straighting she saw Lucy talking with a girl. They chatted for a moment and started her way. The other girl had a nice voice, maybe that of a singer she thought. Raine could feel a headache coming on. She had been around too many people today. She really needed to get out more; not these sporadic attempts. Finishing up she grabbed her briefcase and headed for the hospital pharmacy across the way.
She went in but could not for the life of her find any Excedrin for the life of her so she asked a bispeckled gent behind the counter. He came around the counter exasperated and found a the bottle, Raine thanked him and made her purchase.

Raine ran several errands and returned home. She greeted her two cats and decided to do some work out in her garden. She needed to dry some roses for a lady's rosary she had been commissioned for. She passed the late afternoon pruning her rose bushes. She noticed someone walking up her driveway and to the front door. She waited in her garden for her visitor to finally meet her.

The man walked up to her watching her very closely. 'Are you Raine?', he queried.

'Yes, and your Don, right?'

'Wow! How did you know my name'? he blurted astounded.

'I've been expecting you. I knew you would come.' She stated smiling at him.

'Uh..yeah...Well, Here I am! I met a friend of yours, Rick. He told me that you could possibly help me. You see, when I was in California, I took some mescaline and I was contacted by an Indian spirit. He told me that I had a purpose in life, but he didn't say what it was. Now I'm trying to contact him again, to see if he can tell me more. That's where you come in. Rick said you grew herbs that might help me contact the spirit. Do you have anything that I could buy from you?'

'I don't sell my herbs. I grow them for medicinal use only. Since you seem to be in good health, I don't think I have anything for you.'

'But I've come a long way to see you. Don't you have anything that you could give me that would help me contact the spirit?'

'All I can give you, at this time is advice. If you really want to contact the spirit, you must follow the path that is clear.'

With that in order to get her point across she turned and went into the back of her house. She may have left him but she would she him again. Her questing knight had appeared, but he would need to do most of his questing on his own.
