Johnson City, TN 37614Mary B. Herrin Scholarship - for graduate and undergraduate English majors. The award recognized superior scholarship. Students who are local residents and in need of financial aid are especially considered.
Harry G. Merrill, II Memorial Scholarship - for senior English majors who plan to pursue a Master's Degree in English. Candidates whould have a 3.0 overall G.P.A. and a 3.20 G.P.A. in English as well as a demonstrated finanicial need. The award recognized promise of success in the profession.
Jill MacLean Memorial Scholarship - for undergraduate English majors in their junior or senior years. The award recognizes superior scholarship and promise for life after college.
Golda M. Merrill Memorial Scholarship - for junior English majors who declare their intent to complete an undergraduate degree in English. Candidtes should have a 3.0 overall G.P.A. and a 3.20 G.P.A. in English as well as a demonstrated financial need. The award recognizes promise of success in the profession.
Mary and Ambrose Manning Scholarship - for preparatory secondary English techers. Candidates must have completed 60 credi ours with a 3.0 G.P.A., and msut have officailly entered the teacher eduacation curriculum with a major in English. The award recognized superior undergraduate work by aspiring secondary English teachers.
Margaret Dugger Award - for undergraduate English majors, except for seniors graduating in Spring 1998. The award recognized superior undergraduate scholarship and leadership.
David McClellan Award - for undergraduate English majors, except for seniors graduating in Spring 1998. The award recognizes superior writing ability. Candidates should submit samples of their best writing along with their letter of application.
