The Office of Equity and Diversity sponsors a recruitment program called DISCOVER ETSU. Each year East Tennessee State University continues to seek new ways to spark interest in students across the region, state, and county to attend college. Through several programs offered to high school students, we have encouraged countless students to further their education. DISCOVER ETSU is one of those programs.

DISCOVER ETSU is a program that invites 11th and 12th grade high school students, from Historically Underrepresented Groups onto campus for a weekend in the Fall and Spring. Seniors participate in the Fall and Juniors participate in the Spring. The visit includes a tour of our campus and an opportunity to meet ETSU faculty, staff and students from across our campus. Participants will be given formal presentations from the ETSU staff about: Admissions, Financial Aid, Scholarships, Housing, and Campus Life.

The DISCOVER ETSU program is FREE of charge to the students and their guest. We provide hotel accommodations for out-of-town guests on the Friday evening of the weekend program (limited availability); one room will be provided per family. Students and guests will be responsible for transportation to and from our campus. Local high school students are welcome and are encouraged to attend. Students attending are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

To take advantage of this great opportunity, please fill out and submit the registration form.  You can find the application at Registration Information.  You can also contact your high school guidance counselors for more information.

The DEADLINE to register is Friday, April 5th.  Mailed or faxed applications will not be accepted.

If you have question, you may contact Carshonda Harris at harriscm@etsu.edu or call the Equity and Diversity Ofrice at 423-439-4445.
