2009-2010 Access and Diversity Initiative Grant

The Tennessee Board of Regents Office of Access and Diversity (OAD) announced the 2009-2010 Access and Diversity Initiative Grant program. TBR  entertained applications to fund initiatives that are aligned with the goals of the institutional diversity and strategic plans.

Each campus was allowed to submit two (2) grants in each of the following areas that are designed to further the system’s overall goal of increasing the educational attainment level of all citizens of the state of Tennessee while maintaining a strong focus on the value of diversity to the educational process.

• Student recruitment/retention

• Faculty recruitment/retention

• Campus climate activities

Grants will serve underrepresented or underutilized populations including, but not limited to, racial/ethnic minorities, the economically disadvantaged, persons with disabilities, or will address issues affecting groups such as diversity or multiculturalism.

Seven proposals were submitted from ETSU and 5 of those were funded.  The funded grants and contact information for the Principal Investigator are as follows:
