The Diversity Educators Program at East Tennessee State University consists of a group of students that are passionate about social justice and true equality. The Student Diversity Educators helps to further the development of students’ competence and capability of facilitating dialogue and education around issues of oppression and diversity. This program is one of the components of a larger campus-wide initiative to increase and institutionalize dialogue between marginalized students and the majority student population on campus.
Each Fall the Diversity Educators attend training sessions on topics such as: Race, Religion, Orientation/Gender Identity, Ability, Privilege, Safe Space and much more. The group also facilitates sessions and dialogues for student programs and groups throughout the year.
