ETSU's BEST is committed to facilitating the academic and social transition of incoming first-year underrepresented students. The program empowers students to pursue their academic, professional, social, and personal goals. Mentors in the program provide student support and guidance to increase the students' success and increase engagement with the ETSU community.
Bucs Empowering the Students of Tomorrow is a peer-mentoring program targeted specifically for incoming first-year underrepresented students at ETSU. First-year underrepresented students will be paired with current sophomore, junior, or senior students at ETSU. Mentors and Mentees will be required to meet throughout each semester on at least occasions. There will be large group socials as well. The group will participate in team building activates, leadership sessions and other social activities
ETSU's BEST peer mentors are ETSU student's leaders and come from several diverse backgrounds. All mentors have been academically and socially successful during their first year at ETSU. The mentor will have several roles, including:
