TECTA offers training for child care providers in Johnson City and Blountville

JOHNSON CITY – A 30-hour training seminar in early childhood education will be offered by the Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance (TECTA) in Johnson City and Blountville beginning in January.

Classes will be offered at East Tennessee State University's Child Study Center, 2101 Signal Drive, from 6-9 p.m. each Tuesday from Jan. 8-March 12. Classes will also be offered at Northeast State Technical Community College from 6-9 p.m. each Thursday from Jan. 10-March 21.

Participants must currently work with children in a licensed or registered child care setting to be eligible for the training. There is no cost for this seminar. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

TECTA is a statewide early childhood professional development system established to support and enhance the qualifications of early childhood education personnel. TECTA is coordinated in this region by ETSU's Center for Early Childhood Learning and Development, one of the state's Centers of Excellence. This training is supported by the Tennessee Department of Human Services and Child Care Licensing.
