JOHNSON CITY – Two 30-hour training seminars in early childhood education will be offered by the Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance (TECTA) in Sevierville beginning in January.
Both seminars will be held at the Walters State Community College/Sevier County Center for Higher Education, 1720 Old Newport Highway.
The first seminar is open to regulated or licensed family child care providers. Classes will be held from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on the following five Saturdays: Jan. 12 and 26, Feb. 9 and 23, and March 9.
The second seminar is open to directors and assistant directors working in licensed child care centers. Classes will be held from 9 a.m.-3:30 on the following five Saturdays: Jan. 12 and 26, Feb. 9 and 23, and March 2.
There is no cost for either seminar. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
TECTA is a statewide early childhood professional development system established to support and enhance the qualifications of early childhood education personnel. TECTA is coordinated in this region by East Tennessee State University's Center for Early Childhood Learning and Development, one of the state's Centers of Excellence. This training is supported by the Tennessee Department of Human Services and Child Care Licensing.
