JOHNSON CITY – March 1 is the deadline for high school seniors to apply for the Edward Jones Investments Restricted Fund Scholarship at East Tennessee State University.
The $1,400 scholarship was created by top investment representatives in the Johnson City, Kingsport, Gray, Elizabethton, Blountville and Bristol offices of Edward Jones Investments brokerage.
The scholarship is open to students attending high school in Carter, Greene, Hawkins, Sullivan and Washington counties in Tennessee, and the Bristol, Va., school system.
High school principals or guidance counselors may nominate one student from their school. The student must apply for admission at ETSU before April 1, and the University Scholarship Committee will select the recipient on or before April 15.
Eligible students must have at least a 3.3 grade point average or an ACT composite score of 26, meet all the criteria for admission to ETSU, and submit information about extracurricular and leadership activities, grade point average, and ACT score, all certified by the appropriate official in the high school through a letter to the University Scholarship Committee.
