Application Selection

Federal Stafford loans are the most common source of education loan funds.  They are available to both undergraduate and graduate students.  There are two types of Federal Stafford loans:

• Subsidized (need-based) - The federal government pays the interest on these loans while the student is in-school, in-grace and during authorized deferment periods.
• Unsubsidized (non-need based) -  The borrower is responsible for the interest on these loans as soon as the loan is initially disbursed. 

Your school will notify you of the amount of subsidized and unsubsidized Federal Stafford loans you are eligible to receive for this and subsequent academic periods.  You may decline the loan or request a lower amount by contacting your school.
