Work Study is funded from federal and institutional resources. This program allows students to earn part of their
educational expenses by working part-time under the Federal Work
Study Program (FWS) or the Regular Work Study Program (RWSP). At ETSU
these programs award students from $1200 - $2,000 per year. The
exact earning potential depends upon the award maximum and hours actually worked.
FWS students can work up to 171 hours a semester ($1000) and RWS
students can work up to 103 hours a semester ($600). The pay rate is minimum wage
($5.85 per hour) and
student workers are paid twice a month based on the hours they work. (Please keep in mind that these earnings do not go directly to
your tuition/fees. Student fees must be paid before classes start
each semester.)
