Are You Teaching a Proficiency-Intensive Course?

To learn whether a course you'll be teaching is proficiency-intensive, do any of the following:

(1) Ask the chair of your department.

(2) Look in the course schedule for the term in which you'll be teaching.  A table listing all proficiency-intensive courses appears in the front section of the schedule.  Look for your course there.

(3)  Find the listing for your course section in the course schedule.  If your course is proficiency-intensive, you'll see one of the following codes in the 4th column:

O oral communication-intensive
T using information technology-intensive
W writing-intensive
R oral communication and using information technology-intensive
X oral communication and writing-intensive
Y writing and using information technology-intensive
Z oral communication, using information technology, and writing-intensive

NOTE: Don't confuse these codes with those in the "Days" column, which uses T for Tuesday and W for Wednesday!
