Guidelines for Teaching Proficiency-Intensive Courses

To help undergraduate students practice and refine skills in oral communication, writing, and using information technology, ETSU requires students to take proficiency-intensive courses in their majors and across the curriculum. Every academic department offers such courses. Proficiency-intensive courses must meet certain criteria whenever they are taught, regardless of the instructor.
