individual assistance to beginning, intermediate, and advanced writers
and speakers. Peer tutors can provide assistance with all stages
of the communication process, from generating topics to organizing
ideas and from developing a thesis to polishing a final product. Students
should bring an assignment sheet or notes describing the assignment
for which they are requesting assistance. They should plan on spending
from 30 to 50 minutes in a consulting session. Appointments are
encouraged, but not required; call 439-8202.
The
Center also supports faculty teaching oral communication-intensive
and writing-intensive courses. Call 439-8202 for information about
upcoming faculty development programs or to request assistance with
specific instructional needs related to teaching oral communication
and writing.
