Its all done and will be opening to the public
on August 31st!!!!
These images are now in reverse order, so the newer
images will be on top.
Also, please note that unless stated
otherwise, you are looking North or Northwest (at the back of the
building) in each of these pictures.
Although this was taken on a rainy day, you can still see how
beautiful the brick sculpture turned out. This sculpture was created
by Johnny Hagerman and donated by General Shale Brick. Once completed,
the whole feature will contain a fountain and another alligator.
The Museum is essentially done! This picture was taken on August
1st.
The exhibits are finally going up! It will not be long....(taken on
4/17/07).
Entrance (looking SE) as of 2/27/07.
Note that the base of the Mural Wall has been installed to the right
of the entrance (a worker is inspecting it here).
Taken on 02/27/07 - Back of the site showing the proximity of the
observation platform (yellow railing) to the dig site (tents on the
left). Notice that most of the landscaping is finished (minus the
seeding). You can also see the permanent fence going up in the
background. Once complete, the construction fence (currently enclosing
the site) will be taken down.
Entrance (looking SE) as of 12/05/06.
With the exterior wall of glass going in and some of the walkway
finished, completion is eminent.
This picture (of the entrance - looking SE) was taken on 09/18/06.
With the glass going in, the building is really starting to take
shape!
This picture was taken on 09/18/06. Note that the railing is up on
the observation deck and lab entrance.
This picture was taken on 08/23/06. From this view, you can see the
observation deck on the back of the museum as well as overall
"completeness" of the facility.
This picture was also taken on 09/18/06. Note that the walkway into
the SE corner of the Museum (the one closest to you in this picture)
is nearly finished. This special entrance will allow workers to take
fossils directly into the preparation lab (walking through a
"mud-room" first of course).
The bricks are going up! Be sure to thank
General
Shale for the bricks...They donated all of the bricks for the
Museum! This
picture was taken on 04/13/06.
This
picture was taken on 02/25/06.
Here it comes...right out of the ground! With the steel finally
going up, the building is really staring to look like something. This
picture was taken on 02/15/06.
Retaining walls going up. It is really starting to come out of the
ground! 01/29/06
