Rhinoceros! (Teleoceras) - Specimen: ETMNH-609 (updated 11/06/06)

Here we have assembled the entire skeleton of ETMNH 609 for evaluation prior to molding and casting. Please note that the ribs are not all in these pictures. We simply placed several "in" for the appearance. I will post an updated picture in a few days when we get them all placed correctly.

In this picture, we finally put all the ribs in the correct location. Note the clear color/preservation difference between the right and left ribs (same as seen on the right and left jaws, limb elements, etc.).

 

The lighting was a little off on the pictures below, but you can see more detail than the one above.

Note that although it is in several large pieces, the entire skull is present. Although it was quite a task, our preparator did a fantastic job putting it back together (thumbnail to the right).

Notice that although the first few ribs are incomplete, we have all 18 pairs.

The tail is not really this long. The boxes just exaggerate the length.
