About the Location
Wintergreen ResortSpanning 11,000 acres on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Wintergreen has spacious condominiums and vacation homes surrounded by winding trails, cascading streams and lush forests. Wintergreen Resort is peaceful and refreshing, with an endless variety of activities.
Golf: Wintergreen has two courses; the recently renovated Devils Knob course, the highest course in Virginia at 3,850 feet, is known for cool summer temperatures and outstanding conditions. Their nationally ranked Stoney Creek course has 27 holes designed by world-renowned golf course architect Rees Jones.
Tennis: Facilities at both Devils Knob and Stoney Creek total 19 clay courts and 3 indoor deco-turf courts. Conference guests can use the clay courts at no charge.
The Fitness Center features a cardiovascular and strength studio, heated indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, steam rooms, and saunas. Conference guests receive complimentary access to the Fitness Center.
Wintergarden Spa: Offering a variety of massages, body wraps, skin treatments, nail care, and a variety of packages, you are guaranteed to leave feeling relaxed and revitalized. Spa access is complimentary, and services can be scheduled directly with Wintergarden.
Dining: With four restaurants, you'll have a chance to try a different opportunity each evening.
The Copper Mine: Casual, elegant dining for breakfast or dinner. Their specialties include USDA Prime Midwestern Beef, Canadian Cold Water Lobster Tail, Jumbo Shrimp stuffed with Chesapeake Style Crab, and a vegetarian option is featured nightly. Reservations are suggested.
Devils Grill: A clubhouse restaurant located at the Devils Knob Golf Course features a spectacular mountaintop view with an elegant, club-like atmosphere. Great American fare with a distinctly southern flare. Try our shrimp and grits or cashew grouper. Reservations suggested.
The Edge: Casual dining overlooking the mountains. With its large screen television and live entertainment, our most casual restaurant is perfect for both family and group dining. Serving lunch and dinner, the Edge offers such specialties as spicy buffalo wings, Virginia barbecue, chicken quesadilla, fish tacos, and a variety of tempting pasta dishes. Reservations are not required.
Stoney Creek Bar and Grill: Offers a fantastic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains overlooking our premier 27 hole golf course. Serving lunch and dinner, the restaurant offers outdoor seating with in-season live entertainment.
Additionally, Wintergreen is a great place for outdoor recreation such as hiking, fly fishing, horseback riding, swimming and mountain biking. The Out of Bounds recreation area includes miniature golf and other fun activities. Enjoy the long days in the beauty of the Blue Ridge mountains, and consider a short trek to the nearby Wintergreen Winery, or a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
About the Accommodations
Wintergreen Resort has 300 accommodations range from studios to seven-bedroom homes featuring comfortable living areas, fully equipped kitchens and a balcony or deck. Complimentary internet access is provided in rooms through an ethernet connection, and wireless access is provided in the lodge and all common areas. All accommodations are privately owned and decorated individually. We have secured discounted rates for conference guests, which are guaranteed rates though May 25. Includes combined living/dining/sleeping areas and
efficiency kitchen. Some have balconies,
and each has an individual floor plan and comforts.
Lodge - $134
Similar to a studio, lodge rooms have a separate sleeping
area - a loft in some and separate room in others.
2-bedroom Condo - $215
A great idea if you are coming with a community partner
or co-researcher, these condos are full of amenities with a
full kitchen, private laundry facilities, and a deck. Some
rooms are lofts, and most include two full baths.
