Our Values

Translational research in the ACTRID is defined as systematic translation of basic behavioral theory, methods, and findings into research designed to reduce the burden of health disparities.  

 

Vision:  To eliminate health disparities among Appalachians of all racial and ethnic minority groups and among those who are disadvantaged through educational and socioeconomic circumstances.

 

Mission:  To develop and support researchers and community members in a partnership that will produce the knowledge to reduce health disparities in Hispanic, African American, and rural disadvantaged population groups in Appalachia.
