ETSU is committed to working with community organizations to establish long term relationships!

· ETSU has created long term Community Partnerships with four rural counties and active operational relationships through discipline specific learning and service relationships with an additional five counties in Northeast Tennessee and several others in Southwest Virginia.

· New course sequence in Division of Health Sciences that adopted community based participatory research methodology for research and community projects. First year 37 public health, nursing and medical students have enrolled and are engaged in four sections to work with two rural counties and Hispanic community.

· A Minority Health Coalition is very active in the region. ETSU is working to supplement this coalition through Cultural Affairs to create multiple channels for interaction through ACTRID and other initiatives.

· An existing Hispanic CDC diabetes coalition, an advisory group associated with Applied Spanish Community Studies Minor and an informal university-related community group that produced Puertas Abiertas.

· The ETSU Center for Community Outreach is the regional contractor for the Families First Program.
