The Honors College at ETSU is offering a unique
opportunity in professional development for current ETSU
faculty who may participate as an Honors Faculty Fellow.
The purpose of this program is to encourage our faculty
to create and develop projects that will have broad
impact on curriculum, campus culture, design of programs
or opportunities available to students, or other
activities that contribute broadly to student
recruitment or retention at ETSU. The scope of
expectations for Honors College Faculty Fellows and a
few suggestions for types of projects are described in
the
Honors College Faculty Fellows Program.
- Faculty Fellows
2005-2007 - Drs. Henry Antkiewicz and Weixing
Chen. See "Faculty
Fellows Plan Exchange with Shandong University."
-
Call for Proposals for the period
Fall 2007 - Spring 2009 will be made in Spring 2007.
We currently anticipate that the deadline will be
April 14, 2007.
- Propose a major project that will involve students,
faculty and subjects from across the campus. Combinations
of curriculum and co-curricular activities including
lectures and cultural events are encouraged.
- If your proposal is selected, you will be assigned
for a two-year period as an Honors Faculty Fellow.
The Honors College will provide a Lecturer position
for your department for the period of your fellowship.
You will teach a course in your field and an Honors
course of your selection each semester. The remainder
of your time will be dedicated to pursuing your proposal
and making it a reality for our campus. Honors College
staff will assist you in seeking funding for the
project, if needed.
