Award: $10,000 a year, plus $500 for
medical insurance (if applicable), plus the chance to apply for
an additional $800 grant for travel within Canada.
Eligibility: Applicants must be US
citizens, full-time undergraduate students at an accredited US
College University, and have an excellent academic standing.
When to Apply:
Applications are usually due in late January.
Administered by the Foundation for
Educational Exchange between Canada and the United States of
America, the Killam Fellowship is designed to place students of
each in year-long educational exchange programs in the other's
country. Roughly 80 students are given the fellowship each year,
with American recipients receiving financial assistance to
attend one of twelve of Canada's top Universities (Acadia
University, Dalhousie University, University of Ottawa, McGill
University, McMaster University, Memorial University of
Newfoundland, Mount Allison University, Universite' de Montreal,
Queen's University, University of Toronto, University of
Victoria, and York University).
