Award: Full tuition and fees (at one of the 100+ participating Universities) and at least $16,000 for living expenses, for two to six years.

Eligibility: Applicants must be US citizens and should be graduating seniors with a GPA of at least 3.0, completing a master's degree at a school without a PhD program in your subject, have completed no more than one year in a PhD program, or be returning to schooling from the workforce with no more than a master's degree.

When to Apply: Applications are usually due in early November.

The National Physical Science Consortium Fellowship is designed to bolster the number of US citizens with PhDs in the Physical Sciences, Biochemistry, Computer Science, and related fields of science and engineering, especially among historically underrepresented minorities and women.  The Fellowship provides recipients with no less than two year's support towards their PhD degree work, and also makes available paid summer internships at a variety of leading national employers.
