Are you ready for an extraordinary academic
experience - one that takes you, for a semester or summer term,
out of the classroom and into the great laboratory of the
working world? Would you like to extend your studies,
acquire experience, explore career directions, and develop your
capabilities as a professional, leader, and citizen? Over
the last 33 years, the Washington Center has helped more than
40,000 students from more than 1,000 colleges and universities
in the United States and abroad secure and successfully complete
substantive, challenging and tailored internships in the
for-profit, nonprofit, and governmental sectors. It has
provided them complementary academic coursework and brought them
into contact with leaders at the national and international
levels and in a wide array of fields. These students have
had extraordinary opportunities to strengthen their credentials
for professional employment and for graduate or professional
school. Their experiences have put many of them on career
trajectories far different from what they would have achieved
without the program. And quite simply, these
students state that The Washington Center program has changed
their lives. Making all this possible is
The Washington Center's position at the center of an impressive
array of partnerships. TWC works with thousands of
placement sites - businesses, government agencies, international
organizations, think tanks, advocacy groups and associations.
A truly integrative center, TWC serves the needs of students,
universities, employers, donors and society alike - extending
university curricula, expanding students' possibilities, and
matching talent with opportunity to develop a stronger workforce
and more engaged citizenry.
