GUIDELINES: Evidence of artistry

Fine Arts & Graphic Design

For students interested in Fine Arts (painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, etc.) and Graphic Design (design, illustration, typography, studio photography, commercial art, etc.), careful consideration of application materials is suggested. Whenever possible, submission of actual art work is recommended.

Submit a portfolio of 10 arts works for review, following one of these options:

  • A portfolio of actual works submitted in a sturdy, reusable portfolio suitable for mailing. Suitable for students submitting two-dimensional examples.

  • 35mm slides labeled and submitted in plastic slide sleeves. Suitable for three-dimensional examples such as sculpture, ceramics, jewelry/metals, etc.

  • A CD or DVD. Suitable for examples of digitally created works such as computer illustration, digital graphics, web sites, digital photographs, etc.

Note: Include a self-addressed mailing envelope for the return of slides, CD, or DVD. Actual art work will be returned in the original shipping package. Materials may be submitted in person.
