At ETSU, Honors is up to you.

The Honors College at East Tennessee State University offers programs and opportunities designed to bring an Honors experience to your undergraduate education.

Discover exceptional Honors programs designed for new students (freshmen and transfer) and for current students (Honors-in-Discipline):

  • University Honors Scholars program, designed for exceptional high school students entering the university as a freshman. This four-year program provides full scholarship support.  Your degree is not limited, but you will share a special curriculum with your class.  A special early application is required for consideration for this program.
  • Midway Honors Scholars program, specially designed for exceptional transfer students from community colleges and other universities. This two-year scholarship program provides an honors-enriched curriculum and support for special opportunities, i.e., study abroad, exchange, and undergraduate research.  This program requires special application before your first semester at ETSU.
  • Fine & Performing Arts Scholars program, specially designed for students with artistic talent who desire a new and unique approach to educating artists for the 21st century. Out-of-state and limited in-state tuition scholarships are available, and the program requires a special application.  Class size is limited, so check the web site for details on how to apply.
  • Honors-in-Discipline programs offered in a variety of academic disciplines and also available even after you enroll at ETSU.  Out-of-state scholarships and limited in-state tuition scholarships are available.
