Honors Living-Learning Community
(HLLC)
Pursue YOUR dream here!
The Honors College, in collaboration with Housing and Residence Life,
offers Honors students the option to reside and participate
in an Honors Living-Learning Community. These HLLC
"pods" are located in Governor's, Centennial, and Lucille
Clement Halls, beginning fall 2013.
The
community will provide a chance to live amongst fellow
honors students, plan specialized programs and activities to
help you succeed, both academically and personally, and give
you better access and knowledge regarding the full range of
Honors College opportunities.
Events and
activities designed in coordination with the Honors Peer
Mentor and recommendations from members of the HLLC "pod"
based upon student need may include, but are not limited, to
the following:
- Socials and "Meet and Greet" sessions
- Mid-Term and End of Semester Bash
- Stress Management & Time Management Seminars
- Field Trips
- Tutoring and Mentoring Sessions
Honors
students, from all Honors programs, may elect to live in an
Honors Living-Learning Community (HLLC) "pod" currently
available in Governor's, Centennial, or Lucille Clement
Halls.
HLLCs
designed with YOU in mind will provide specialized services
and programs geared toward YOUR needs. HLLCs will help YOU
through your academic career with a focus on managing time
and stress. Additionally, planned socials and special
interest sessions that you desire developed in order to make
your time here in Honors and ETSU the best it can be.
In addition
to living with your colleagues, an Honors Peer Mentor will
live in the community. This individual will be someone who
has gone through what you will be experiencing at ETSU and
within Honors and will be there for support as you
transition into Honors and ETSU.
University
Honors Scholars (UHS) freshmen and sophomores are required
to live on-campus during their first two years in the
program. Living in an HLLC "pod" is an opportunity to live
with other Honors students and receive support and guidance
from Honors Peer Mentors and students.
